LTC Gallery: Cut Paper by Pai Fang Lin
Pai Fang Lin practices the traditional art of paper cut,
called Jianzhi in China, but gives it a very contemporary
interpretation.
She uses current events and people and places from her own
life as inspiration for her complex and beautiful images.
Her technique involves layering
intricate cut and folded pieces of paper to create three-
dimensional artworks in which the play of light and shadow
add atmosphere and depth to the work.
A native of Taiwan, Pai Fang now lives in Massachusetts and
